What a beautiful place to wander between oaks and towering pine trees. Taking reference photographs from the kayak and spending hours at the building site was truly a joy. Stoney Lake located north of Peterborough, is one of Ontario's lakeland treasures and it was my great pleasure to attempt to capture the textures and form of it's landscape 
  Transforming a 6 step gray scale into varying tones of taupe, the artwork gradually took on the hues of the cottage interior and resulted in a 72" x 36" x 4" piece that remained dwarfed above the fireplace and towering cathedral ceilings.  
   The largest piece I've completed to date, I had to take a break after this one!
