Boutique Hotel, St.Stephens Green, Dublin
2010

The inspiration for the transformation of an existing building in the city center came partly from the client’s brief. The clients, a consortium of Irish Hoteliers and property developers, own a range of Hotels across Europe, from luxury four star accommodation to travel lodge style cheap hotels. They intend for their Dublin property to be a flagship
of their organization.
The client has specified that this hotel should be unlike anything currently in the sector. It should set a new standard for city hotels both in terms of customer experience and attitude that should represent a statement in contemporary hotel design.
They would like it to be viewed by the public and clientele as more than just accommodation, but also a meeting place and social venue, it should also take into account also the trend toward ‘hotel as destination’ and as ‘Home away from home’.

The project takes into account the spatial references of the master plan as a guide to design a new layout. The new hotel is a space of service and recreation for hotel guests and visitors. Inspired by art deco the elegant interior represents luxury,
style and yet modernity.
