S.M.A.S.H. (Show Me A Smoke-free Home)

S.M.A.S.H. (Show Me A Smoke-free Home) is an anti-smoking campaign that I created. It is designed for middle school students who feel their health is being jeopardized because they live in a household where a family member smokes. The campaign is organized in the form of a kit. The SMASH Kit is packed with tools and techniques that kids can use to help them help their parents quit smoking.

The Kit includes:
1 Welcome Booklet
1 DVD of Downloadables
1 Certificate
1 Thank You Card
1 Sticker Chart
3 Infographics
90 Stickers
The SMASH Kit packaging.
Back of SMASH Kit.
A sticker chart that can be hung on the fridge to track their progress.
A DVD sleeve and DVD. Kids can download all of the SMASH materials and print out on their own.
An infographic displaying the postive effects the human body undergoes just minutes after quitting.
In my flash class I put motion to this infographic. DOWNLOAD THE SWF FILE HERE.
An infographic showing how much money a smoker spends from 1 day to 5 years. The symbols represent different ways the money can be spent. For example; if a parent smokes a pack a day that is about $7 which is equivalent to 3 school lunches.
An infographic displaying the negative effects of secondhand smoke. For example; Ear infections, headaches, dizziness, asthma.
A certificate that kids can give their parents to keep them motivated.
Poster that advertises the SMASH Kit in schools.
The Thank You Card is a place for the kids to write a note or letter telling their parents how thankful and happy they are that their parents quit.
