Middle and high school students gather at 826LA every year for the week-long Summer Writers Workshop; during this year's workshop, students explored concepts of futurism, re-imagination, and identity with the help of a variety of poets, writers, and artists. Their work was compiled in the chapbook Beyond My Outer Layer.

Quotes from the students' pieces were used as decor for the release party; students were able to take home their framed quote at the end of the event.
