Laboratory Of Senses – experience more

Project of kitchen dishes which through simultaneous stimulation the senses of smell, sight and hearing allows us to increase the experience and also to have direct contact with art of preparing and eating food. The idea of this dishes was born from personal admiration for the great importance attached to ceremony of brewing tea in Asia, The main reason for my search was to eliminate real fire and extending the process of creating a meal so that the user himself can take in direct, but passive participation. Thanks to this, our senses will be more stimulated and waiting for consumption will end with more pleasure.
Taste is the most common sense associated with food. However, from the physiological point of view it is the smell that is the most important one when it comes to feeling of pleasure related with it. The other three main senses are not indifferent here. My project predicts right order of receiving stimulants.
The first one is smoke and water vapor swirling around in the glass domes, directing our gaze to their insides. The final product itself is only a background at this time. Slowly, we are beginning to hear sounds characteristic for a given culinary process, such as sizzle. The water vapor which contains the fragrance particles condenses on the walls of the chimney and then in the form of smoke releases rich bouquet of aromas outside of the dish.
The project includes: a plate containing three circular hollows of different diameter. As filling for those holes, I propose separately inserted stands with milled structures. Three round platforms are special spots where processes of thermal processing of foods will take place. The culinary techniques I chose include cooking, smoking and melting. Because all elements are made of granite, it is possible to heat only the supplementary plates while the large form is the connector between them. The next part of this dish are glass cups that fulfills the function of the covers. Their specific purpose is to enrich and emphasize the unique character of the courses. They are made of boron-silica glass used for the production of laboratory glassware. This material is particularly resistant to high temperatures as well as allowing the copulas to be subjected to their rapid changes.
