A Quick Look at Me

This is a snap shot of a 3D animation i'm currently working on. I modeled and textured everything you can see in the picture. It is a replica of Nintendo's "Dry Bowser" from the Super Mario games. This was created in a program called Modo. This is my 2nd try at anything involving 3D modeling or animation.
This is a "space-scape" i made with spray paint on high gloss paper. I've always seen the videos online of street performers doing this, so i figured why not take a shot at it. I had a blast doing this and see how it can translate into other styles of art.
The phoenix rises! This is a composition i created in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I really enjoy drawing scenes like this because it makes me really think i could be an illustrator for books or something similar and enjoy the work i do. A lot of the time in class instead of reading along to the book when i was younger, i would draw a scene from the book that my teacher had read.
This picture is chalk pastel on black paper with metallic sharpie details. I created this design after my teacher talked about "futurism" and how it was heavily influenced by movement of items in the world. So i took it a step further and made it the movement of the world and other planets in our galaxy.
As much as id love to take all the credit for this, me and my family built this on the beach one summer( we try to do this every year with something new). I'm putting this in this album because it shows how i am not limited to one media for my creations and am not afraid to try new things for art and design sake.
Isn't the universe so elegant? Just look at it swing and sway on this book cover i had to design for one of my many graphic design classes. This was created on Adobe Illustrator and is a dramatic improvement on its real cover.
This is an illustration i created on Adobe Illustrator, the design came to me one day when i was looking at my girlfriends floral blinds, a wrinkle on them made the picture pop in my mind. Inspiration can come from anything and i'm always open to looking for it.
I like to try new styles every once and awhile, and on this day i wanted to be a little more geometric and use harder edged shapes. My usual style tends to be a little more sketch-y and rough especially with my hand drawn compositions. This too, much like the rest was created on Adobe Illustrator.
I'm sorry its on lined paper, when i was younger all i ever did was draw. I never cared about what paper it was on. If i loved the picture, i left it how it is on what ever i drew it on. I figured its not the paper that people like, its whats on it.
A native skull drawn on high gloss paper using a pen. I really enjoyed drawing this because the pen i was using laid down a lot of ink, and because it was on gloss paper the ink didn't dry right away. Because of that i was able to use it like a pencil and blend/shade with my finger. I'm a huge fan of hatch and cross hatch shading so to be able to fuse the two into one look made me extremely happy.
Last but not least! This is a still life i drew in another one of my art classes, it is drawn with a brown conte crayon on newsprint paper. i learned a lot from this one picture. i learned how fabrics fold and different materials have different shine, and it helped with foreshortening a little bit.
Well after a quick look at some of my work, all i hope is that you enjoyed it and saw something that made you smile or gave you an idea or two. There's much more where this came from so stick around   :)  - Damian Heuer
