This piece was an experiment of a hybrid drawing technique using both digital and analogue methods. I revisited a previous project of mine to develop the technique which essentially uses hand drawn pencil textures as texture maps on a 3D model built in 3DS Max. This was achieved through a plug-in which allowed the control over different pencil weights which responded to the lighting and the geometry of the scene. The aim was not to emulate a pencil drawing but to develop a style that was unique and a true hybrid. This piece was completed in 2016 and was my very first attempt at the method which I'm still developing to this day.
Below are some detailed extracts from the drawing.
The drawing was exhibited in the Dallas Museum of Art in late 2016 as part of AIA Dallas' KRob Architectural Delineation Competition.
