This project is born from the need to valorize the cardboard, a packing material that usually is thrown away after its use.

Tanit is an armchair strongly linked to Sardinia’s roots, a region always characterized by colonization and cultural influences from peoples all over the Mediterranean. The inspiration comes from Tanit, the goddess of fertility and love, and whom symbology is still present in archaeological sites of the island.

The prototype is handcraft. Each sheet of cardboard had been cut individually and then had been stuck with the others. Exterior sheets are made in Okumè plywood, which make the armchair’s structure stronger and give a warm appearance, while valorizing the material.
