Volunteers and Staff of the Movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent find themselves every year in the field where the battle of Solferino took place in 1859, when Henry Dunant had the Idea which led to the largest existing Volunteer Association. The event end with the traditional Fiaccolata, from Solferino to Castiglione delle Stiviere, along the path made by those who carried the wounded during the battle. A unique and suggestive event illuminated by the light of thousands of torches which together, with the enthusiasm of the Volunteers, will revive the magic of that Story.
