History Con 2017 Manila Exhibit

HISTORY CON MANILA 2017

I was commissioned by Sound Images Multi-Media Services to design and supervise construction for the Philippine Veteran's Bank space which featured their exhibit entitled "War of Our Fathers". The mock-up structures took four months to produce and we had a day to set everything up before the event opened.
This was the initial concept art for the exhibit where everything was enclosed by a fence to simulate some sort of an encampment.
Since the exhibit area was a bit bigger than I initially imagined, the floor plan changed and we decided to remove the enclosure and made it look like World War 2 ruins of Manila.
Start of Set-up
The ruins were made up of sculpted styro with welded steel frames. The rusty bars protruding from the foam are made of sliced rubber foam.
Almost there.

Mission Accomplished, thanks to Jerann Ordinario's "trooper" Set Construction crew. We started around 6am of August 9 and finished around 8am the day after right in time for the opening of the event which was 10:00AM.
