Water for Elephants is an American romantic film based on Sara Gruen’s 2006 novel of the same name. The plot takes place in 1931, and it involves characters in an unexpected romantic story within a circus setting. The film stars Reese Witherspoon, Robert Pattinson and Christoph Waltz.

The motion graphic takes a conceptual approach, using the vintage style of a 1930’s circus. Throughout the circus, decorations and animals are employed to depict the movie setting. The typeface used is in a circus style and the colour scheme is bold red, orange and blue to reinforce the theme. The background and drawn elements use a grainy texture to give the graphics an “aged” feeling.
