The site is located in the Muweilah area of Sharjah. The area is next to an industrial compound and it is nested between high traffic roads making it one of the cheapest neighborhoods to live in the entire region. Sharjah is a prime example for a city built on infrastructures, which has moved towards a wild urbanization, whereby  the modern relationship centre- suburbs is abolished. Due to the lack of the presence of such a centre in the city, specially in the Muweilah area, there is a need for establishing an icon which will hold the ability to instill life and energy in this area

 For a deeper understanding of the site an installation named “ Adaptive Bollywood” was created in which an empty area in the site was transformed into an open movie theatre. This was done by projecting a Bollywood movie on the façade of one of the buildings located in the site. Due to the lack of such public spaces in the area, a proposal is developed to create a stepped park/landscape building that provides lots of open public spaces to the residents of the Muweilah area.

The site is divided into plots. Programmatically, the left plot is designed to be more public oriented with the placement of shops, auditorium, food court etc and the right side is more private with the location of offices, school, community center and media library. Both of these plots are connected by a pedestrian bridge to allow for more fluid interaction between the different sides.

Kevin Roche’s Oakland Museum of art was taken as a case study and the concept of “patchwork” was applied in the building whereby the landscape on the roof looks like a patchwork applied to the whole building. The public can access the roof of the building  which are the major open spaces in the building. The glass facades of the building also take into account the patchwork concept and have a mosaic like glazing and the walls are made of board formed concrete.The landscape serves as an attractor point and sort of pulls the community towards itself.  This landscape building will revitalize the whole neighborhood by not only providing spaces for interaction but also by creating an icon for the city.
