I drove directly from my naturalization ceremony (yay, citizenship!) to the Daily Gamecock's production room to design this special election tab. South Carolina, being a good ol' red state, plays a big role in choosing the Republican presidential nominee.As South Carolina's largest student newspaper, we sought to provide fair coverage of all the candidates while showcasing some of the many passionate, involved students on campus.
We produced the tab in only 5 hours, and design took two hours to complete.
Design is a process of trial and error. And sometimes the outcomes are hilarious. Although this poster wasn't fit for print, everyone on staff that night took one home as a memento from election night. (That's me on the left with the flag and silly face.)
