Gambling addiction is a serious issue in the American society. Gambling is highly addictive and one may experience great fortune and almost always, great loss. One may win a hefty profit when luck is on one’s side, but the chances are against the gambler. Some effects of gambling addiction are health risks, depression, suicide, and bankruptcy.

I’ve created this board game in order for players of the game to experience the struggles of a gambler, while at the same time learning about gambling addiction. As an entertainment tool, players must try to gain points without going bankrupt. Also as an educational tool, players would have to answer questions about gambling statistics and true gambling experiences when landing on a trivia space on the board.

This board game may not be the solution to a gambler’s addiction, but it is a fun and shocking way to “scare one straight” about gambling addiction with a group of friends.
