PART ONE EXPERIENCE - JULY 2017 - PRESENT
38a THE AVENUE

Designing a new block of flats in a popular area of Bournemouth. Conceptually identifying the physical divide between residential housing and tower block flats that dissect the site. Design influences were taken from both architectural styles to produce a dynamic design that is site specific and offers diversity within spatially identical flats.
My personal involvement within this project was singularly constructing a concept, which was developed with the senior architect to produce an initial form and material pallet.
I then developed the design according to client and internal practice feedback to eventually produce a full set of planning drawings and a conceptual document, including rendered visuals of the development.  After gaining the approval of both the client and practice director the project was submitted for planning.
39 ALTON ROAD

The development of an existing bungalow into a modern two story property, inspired by picturesque views of Poole harbour. Using alternative angles and protrusions to direct the property towards the views, to maximise the amount of natural light and improve the amount of socialising space for the family.
My personal involvement was to develop the initial concept for the project, producing digital sketch models of forms. The form was then finalised with the help of the senior architect, before I produced a full set of planning drawings and conceptual document, including a digital render. The project was then approved by both client and the practice director before I submitted to planning.
39 CYNTHIA ROAD

The design of two new dorma bungalows, set in the combined rear gardens of two properties in Poole.
The project focused on minimising their impact on the surrounding properties, trying to reduce their mass from the front and out-looking faces. Allowing for more playful forms and materials on the rear and in-looking facades.
My personal involvement within the project was to develop a concept and initial sketch form, remaining aware of the strict site conditions and specific space requirements. Working with the senior architect, we finalised the form, designing efficient spaces that I then produced into a full set of planning drawings. These were approved by both client and architectural director before being submitted for planning.
BOURNE VALLEY COMMUNITY HUB

The design of a new community centre, encompassing a youth club, 50 place nursery, exterior play/ sport facilities and spaces designed for community based activities.
The project was designed to strongly reference Bourne Valley's Nature Reserve and the local area, due to the project taking a prominent position physically within the centre of the community.
The exterior of the design forms a strong protective boundary, opening up into a soft, playful interior. The building acts as a safe heaven for community members whilst providing them with a fun and safe space to spend time.
My personal involvement with the project was to develop two potential ideas for the form of the building, working with the whole of the practice and the client to eventually decide upon one design that best suited the concept and design budget.
I then proceeded to form a concept and developed design for the exterior spaces, with support from the senior architect. The main consideration was to produce a design that was adaptable to the different community groups and age ranges that would have access to the space.
