The Aquarium & Zoo Facilities Association (AZFA) is made up of architects, engineers, management personnel, tradesmen, animal keepers, grounds and housekeeping staff, and more. Though their professional paths may differ, their members all have a love of sharing their expertise, and learning from one another. The hope of AZFA is to build knowledge, grow our collective network, and push one another to continue to build the best habitats in the world.

When creating a new brand for AZFA I was inspired by Origami. The art of Origami combines know-how, ingenuity and imagination to create designs of beauty, precision and strength – much like AZFA does when bringing together its many and varied members. Animals are a common depiction in Origami and the folded shapes are suggestive of building blocks as well as the idea of the transformation that can occur when different pieces of a larger whole are organized and connected in any number of ways.
