My collection is based on leading lines and s-curves. The collection has neon colored lines with a sense of depth. They have dark backgrounds that help focus on the lines that create the image. I used photoshop to change the contrast in the image. I changed the color in some of the images by using hue changes. The levels where changed to increase the line contrast. I increased the sharpness to give the lines more detail.
1. Is a photography of an angel I took the first week of class. I used editing to change the concept of the picture to neon lines. Color was changed to make the lines be more defined.
2. This picture of my hand that was given this effect by slowing down the shutter speed. Then edited for neon color lines. The color was changed to a red hue.
3. This is a picture of a neon sign that was taken in Austin. This sign was outside of a tattoo shop. The color was changed to a green hue. The levels were adjusted to make the background dark.
4. This picture was taken at a bus stop in a small town that was built in the 1900’s. The photo was edited to use the neon lines. The color was adjusted to give the clouds more definition. The flag color was edited to give it a red color.
5. This photo was also taken in Austin, and it’s a photo taken at a shop on 1st street. It’s a picture of a winged horse on a neon sign. The hue was adjusted for the blue color it has now. The background was edited to not have a window around it. Car lights were edited out of the photo and used layers as well.
6. I took this photo for a prior assignment, but I went back and edited to give it a neon light look. The white lines give it a nice, clean look. The sign is still red and brings more focus on the sign.
7. The is the focus of my collection. It is a wall from an event in Austin. I saw how interesting the idea of neon lines could be. The image was given a different hue, levels, saturation, and lighting. It has so many s-curves and the colors are great in this picture.
