Mau Mauru

Retelling the Kenyan nationalist history and honoring the heroes and heroines in an afrofuturistic concept.

Kimathi Waciuri
The Legendary Field Marshall of the Land Freedom Army, later to be known as Mau Mau, was a revolutionary leader who led an armed military struggle known as the Mau Mau Uprising against the British colonial regime in Kenya in the 1950s.
In the early morning of 18 February 1957 he was executed by hanging at the Kamiti Maximum Security Prison. He was buried in an unmarked grave, and his burial site remains unknown… Until now. He was never buried, his body was secretly swapped with another by Mau Mau loyalists inside the prison. They encased him in a metal capsule and transferred him to a secret workshop bunker deep underground where they tirelessly worked to bring him back. Many years later they succeeded but kept the knowledge hidden lest it fell in the hands of the oppressors.

The Field Marshall is back! Binocular eyes to foresee better than he foresaw in the 50s. They thought they were restraining him with the handcuffs but ended up crowning him.
