InMidTown, a business improvement district operating in London, is one of the three clients that provided briefs to the participants of the 2011 Service Design summer course at Central Saint Martins.

The brief
Creating a marketable and measurable loyalty scheme to encourage employees in the area of Bloomsbury, Holborn and St Giles to shop local, enhancing retail offer and trading environment.

The concept
Creating a buzz around inmidtown by pollinating between workers, tourists, residents and businesses through a discount currency, sharing and a series of events. The districts will be conceived as a destination and place to stay. This will benefit local businesses and bring a sense of community to the area. The buzz will complement local businesses successful loyalty schemes and supports the shop local initiative, it attracts people to dwell during evenings and at weekends.
