The Book of Changes

The Book of Changes
A Zine About the Future
is a personal zine which tries to tackle the ever effervescent question: what does the future hold for us? Looking upon the I-Ching, an ancient tool that describes the universe in a miniature sense and predicts the future, the zine tackles the idea that while many questions can seem complex, they can be broken down and understood as simplified parts to reveal where something may be headed next.

Collecting articles and ideas from current progressive minds and organizations, predictions were based on such, with the prediction stating what will need/shall happen in the future, and supporting evidence through the articles. Articles are supported by captions that reflect personal opinions on what is to be done and should be done, to live in a more harmonious, sustainable and respectable environment as well as society. The act of reveal is also echoed through the book cover and the quotes, with the ending stating a culmination of the previous quotes used.

Book cover, influenced by books published by Penguin in the 1970s, informing readers about various subjects such as economy, gender, government, etc.
Title page reveals the structure that creates the cover, echoing the theme of predict/mystery and reveal.
A forward explaining the background of the I-Ching, it's use as a predictor of the future, along with a conversation by the RZA on the significance of the I-Ching and numerology.
