How To Raise A Feminist Daughter

Illustration
When a friend asked Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie for advice on how to raise her daughter as a feminist, the writer came up with 15 suggestions. Her ideas were so sharp and eye-opening that they ended up in a little book called "Dear Ijeawele, or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions".

It's one of the most inspiring and explicit books about feminism that I've ever read so I decided to illustrate five of Adichie suggestions. I hope this will help to spread the word about this brilliant book.
"Teach her to read. Books will help her understand and question the world."
"Talk to her about sex, and start early. It will probably be a bit awkward but it is necessary."
"Be deliberate about how you engage with her and her appearance. Encourage her participation in sports."
"Teach her to reject likeability. Her job is not to make herself likeable, her job is to be her full self."
"Do not ever tell her that she should or should not do something because she is a girl."
