Space and Time is a digital piece I created for Design Process 1 class at OCADU, led by Professor Susan Campbell. It is part of the third stage “Composition” of a 4-stage project. The task was to incorporate shapes, lines, representational object and a photo taken by the students themselves to create a strong composition. The piece is inspired by sci-fi movies like Star Trek, Star Wars and Blade Runner (1982) with vibrant colours and sound effects. I also have lots of interest in cosmology, the interconnectedness, parallel universe and time travel. 

Space and Time is the third stage “Composition” of a 4-stage project (Shape - Pattern - Composition - Motion). The spaceship was created based on the first stage “Shape” and second stage “Pattern” works. From translating the shape of a can opener onto a digital grid template on Illustrator using 4 assigned shapes, under a set of strict rules to generating patterns based on the representational and non-representational shapes. With elements from first two stages, incorporating with lines, photo and colours, Space and Time was created. Only Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop were used in this 4-stage project.
