Things You Need To Know About Loose Dental Implants
One of the breakthroughs in dentistry is dental implantation which tends to give patients their natural smile back with complete functionality and full biting force. This implant ideally stays there in the mouth for more than two decades. However, some people do not find much luck after this process as they get loosened dental implants. There can be two reasons for this type of occurrences. One is associated with flaw in implantation process. The second possibility is associated with careless approach which the patients follow after having successful dental implant.

Both of these scenarios are discussed briefly below.
Loose implants after crown attachment
Loosening of dental implant after crown attachment mainly occurs due to crown placement well before it is supposed to be placed. In this scenario, it is worth mentioning about the innovative immediate load techniques which allow dentists to attach crown almost immediately after insertion of implants. Such procedures may be effective but these procedures have raised the risk of implant failure drastically.

Another reason for the loose implant immediately after crown attachment is the poor Osseo-integration. Osseo-integration is the process of fusion which occurs to make implant the part of dental structure, i.e. the dental implant gets fused with soft tissues and jawbone. The failed process can lead to overall failure of implant.
Loose implant after completion of treatment
Some patient might suffer from loosening of implants after a couple of years of successful treatment. There can be many reasons behind it but the major one is carelessness to proper dental hygiene. We all know how bad the gum disease can be. It can lead to gum inflammation, infection and then the disease which doesn’t only cause serious oral illness but also the loss of tooth and even jawbone. The gum diseases, which occur when there is a tooth implant in place, are known as Peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis. Both these diseases are the counterparts of gingivitis and periodontitis respectively. When the gum disease reaches its advanced stage, the soft tissue holding the implant loses hold of the implant. As a result, the implant gets loosened. And this advanced gum disease can make the jawbone to deteriorate, making the tooth implant to get out of the place entirely.
What to do?
While you need to refer to the dentist immediately if you see the implant loosening during the treatment, there is an entire list of instructions you will need to consider if you have got implant successfully inserted. You have to make sure that you are caring for your dental hygiene in the best possible way. More specifically, the health of your gums and jawbone are most essential things to take care about if there is an implant inserted in the jawbone.
