Travelogue: Wilder End of Goa, India.

Arambol, THE WILDER END OF GOA with a distinct bohemian appeal, has been attracting a steady stream of all age groups, who wield their flower power to preserve Arambol’s utopian ideals, its artistic culture and the occasional psychedelic party. Arambol is the home to a handful of small boutiques, selling everything from apparel, jewellery to body jewellery. The busy beaches and market streets are enough to keep you occupied. Discovered in the 1960’s by the hippies looking to escape the fading flower power is of the west, where peace and love prevail amongst a still largely unspoiled paradise. The Beatles got into the American hippie culture and it did not take long before they discovered India as a true spiritual land of love and compassion. Drums circles happen every evening at the far end of the beach. Locals and travelers meet here to play drums as the sun goes down and everyone dances together. The atmosphere is amazing, everyone dancing for the sheer love of dancing. There are children running all around. It’s amazing to see people from all over the world coming together each evening to make music. Next to the drumming circle is a small market where expats sell handmade jewellery and Mr.Cookie sells cookies! At sunset and as night falls, the beachfront transforms into one of Goa’s most romantic dinner settings, with candlelit restaurant tables serving up a feast of fish dishes and beer. The fascinating blend of traditional Goa village life and western hippy culture never fail to leave a lasting impression. Coupled with its location on the shores of the Arabian Sea, Arambol is the perfect place in which to lose all thoughts and dream the day away. A part of finding our inner self comes from experience of other people, culture and places. Arambol is one of the place that made us into the one.. ---  Nature blends with them! My photo series focusing mainly on the environmental portraits of the people there.
