Virtual Environment for orientating new students to the Maritime campus
As part of my final project for my degree I had to implement a working product that was based upon my literature review and case study research.
The project was investigate whether using a virtual environment/ virtual world would help orientating students on arrival in finding buildings, lecture theatres, labs and tutorials classes.

Due to using Adobe Director and the 3D shockwave component the models had to be of a low polygon count (complexity). However the buildings were designed by taking multiple pictures of each of the buildings and used as a template to build high polygon buildings. Bitmaps were taken from the high spec buildings and mapped on to single primitive shapes to lower the polygon count.
