For these photos I tried to emulate the work of Ansel Adams

the first thing you need is an open area 

some nice clouds are nice if you can find some 

so once you have your photo you're going to want to take away all color with photoshop

your also going to want to bring up the contrast and correct the brightness accordingly 

and remember Ansel had closeups every once in a while
