The 7ft recliner is a collaborative sensing and mechatronics project done as a part of the Applied technologies group at Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd, aimed at developing a patentable recliner mechanism for possible applications in healthcare, furniture and interior space. The mechanism involved segmented motion of the recliner with varying degrees of freedom using a single actuator and a pulley system to open up to a length suitable for a 7 foot tall person.
