For this assignment, I was asked to pick a song from a list of eight, make notes as I listened to the track, and then create a visual response in the form of a poster. I chose “Good Vibrations” from the Beach Boys. Firstly, I’m a huge fan of the Beach Boys, and the song. Secondly, the track inspired a lot of visual ideas. As I listened to it, I kept imagining warm, friendly colors, but also eerie-ness and objects coming into contact with each other. I wanted to capture the vibrant yet surreal tone of the song, while maintaining a level of obscurity with the imagery.
