Phase 1:
Our class theme was music, so I chose the word soothing for my sculpture, as I am typically drawn to soothing music. I wanted to incorporate sooting colors, textures, and feelings into my sculpture. I chose a subtle blue/grey color palette and a smooth and soothing font. I used slime to drip down the letter to appear as a soothing rainfall into a soothing marble texture.
Phase 2:
To contrast my sculpture, I placed it in the center of a busy road. I used a long exposure to capture the movement and busyness of the space. The busy, warm scene contrasts with my soothing, cool sculpture.

Phase 3:
I created a font that was based off of my sculpture. I used Adobe Illustrator to create my font. I added drips and puddles to the word to replicate my sculpture in text form.
The Process:
To start out, I first brainstormed, and wrote out my thoughts and ideas. I then tested out different potential soothing fonts. Then, I cut out the word using the laser cutter.
