The prostheses available
today do not meet patient expectations A walking leg can’t be used in the water, since the components (feet, knees, adapters, foam covers) aren’t designed to be water resistant. The swim legs available are often disappointing. Some are functional, but have no cosmetic cover, and are often rudimentary both in terms of  function and aesthetics.

Functionality first
The idea took shape based on Aqualeg founder Frédéric Rauch’s personal experience as an amputee. He had searched in vain for a single prosthesis that he could use on vacation for both sightse eing and beach activities. He founded Aqualeg to address this unmet need. It was very important to maintain the essential functions of a walking leg. Aqualeg has selected some of the best components on the market to adapt to patient mobility. Aqualeg is designed for use with dynamic response feet, adapters tested for corrosion resistance and hydraulic knees guaranteed to be water-resistant. An Aqualeg prosthesis can be worn for extended periods, while on holiday, for an entire season or even year-round.

Plus lifelike aesthetics
Aqualeg cosmetic covers make the prosthesis almost invisible. We create a lifelike replica of the patient’s opposite limb, and the color is selected from a skin tone chart.

Behavior in water
The Aqualeg cover fills with water for neutral buoyancy when underwater. Upon exiting the pool or the ocean, the water To meet the drains quickly through the ankle.
