Jamar Esaw's profile

Final Steve Harvey Neighborhood Awards

Jamar Esaw is an accomplished gospel singer and band leader who has spearheaded musical programs at multiple churches and currently serves as the founding director of the group Triad 4 Christ. In 2015, Jamar Esaw and Triad 4 Christ earned recognition as one of the top three church choirs in America at the Steve Harvey Neighborhood Awards Choir Contest.

The brainchild of comedian and television host Steve Harvey, the Neighborhood Awards were an extremely popular annual event for many years. The purpose was to celebrate individuals from across the United States who have made exceptional contributions to their local neighborhoods.

The last Neighborhood Awards took place in 2016 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. In addition to Steve Harvey and other talent from his syndicated morning radio program, the 2016 event attracted stars such as Keith Sweat, Jill Scott, Maxwell, and Lalah Hathaway.

Steve Harvey officially announced that he was discontinuing the Neighborhood Awards program. In its place, he will be spearheading two smaller events, the Harvey 100 (which honors exceptional small businesses) and the Sand & Soul Festival (which features a range of concerts and parties).
