2018 Summit (Human Dignity)

Summit on Human Dignity Poster 2018
Introduction
The theme of this project was on this years Brophy's Summit theme which was 'Human Dignity'. For this project, we took a lot of steps and time to make a purposeful poster that shows how we need to respect others with the upmost dignity. We used various ideas from other images and posters as inspiration for how we wanted to make our poster. Our steps for this project include research, making mind maps, sketching out ideas, drawing better sketches, using Photoshop, and double checking our work to make sure it looked great. Down below are the details into how we made the project.
Mind Map
For our mind map, we first started by researching Human Trafficking. We then put Human Trafficking in the center of the mind map, and then wrote things that come to mind when people think of Human trafficking on the sides. This process helped us develop our sketches and our roughs.
Sketches
After creating our mind map, we drew out some sketches of some ideas that we had that would well represent Human Trafficking, but in a positive way. As you can tell from below, we had many ideas. After drawing out many ideas, we took the best sketches and began using Photoshop.
Inspiration
For our inspiration on this project, we looked at different works of art similar to what we were trying to make and we saw many different good ideas that we could incorporate. We wanted examples of art that had the words in the piece as the same color of the background and parts of the image. Down below are some examples of what helped us with our final piece.
Creating The Piece
For our final project, we took time and effort to make the Human Trafficking topic stand out and be heard. After finishing using photoshop, we had two choices to pick from. Either we choose the image on the left which was more dark or we choose the image on the right which had a more positive aspect to it. After taking some time to figure out which poster to use, we chose the image that felt more positive and had a deeper meaning. In the end, we think this poster turned out how we wanted it to and we think it really represents Human Dignity and how we should respect others.
