The Badain Jaran Desert (巴丹吉林沙漠), China
I have seen some of the greatest landscapes in China, but none of these has moved me as much as this desert did. After sunrise, at -25°C, I enjoyed surreal moments and didn't feel like I was a photographer, but as a painter, who had all the colours and lines at his disposal to create such a photograph. It's like the endless blue 'sea' had a randevous with massive sand 'mountains'. It was really interesting to see, how the colour changes over the day, reaching from a dark blue tone (thanks to the hoarfrost) in the morning to a strong yellow tone mid-day.
Mother Nature is showing us her creativity in various ways
und makes us marvel about her "artworks" ...
I am happy that my son was standing right there at that moment.
Because of that one can grasp, who far the landscape stretches and how high those dunes are.
