UAL: Connect

UAL: Connect was a project aimed at creating a navigation and events application for University students who wanted to visit other campuses at our University. This would allow students to take full advantage of the events and workshops available among the different specialist buildings and locations the university has to offer.
Some of the outcomes we produced and worked on by the end of the program where;
· A ‘kick-starter’ themed promotional video.
· UAL: Connect MVP in the form of an application.
· Posters & Banners for advertising our product at a stall.
· Creating and managing a social media account (Twitter and Instagram).
· Presenting in the form of a Pitch and Presentation to an audience, clients and investors.
· Working Collaboratively within a mixed skillset team.
Conceptualised during a two-week program exclusive to currently enrolled students in University of the Arts London in any stage of education (BA to MA students). ‘Modual’ is a Module (Get the pun?) organised by Fred Deakin to allow students enrolled at the student to collaborate with students across courses. These could involve students studying Film, Art Direction, Installation, Illustration to list some of the courses.
During the program, we were working collaboratively either externally or on location - doing a range of workshops combined with lectures by different industry practitioners. These tasks and lectures ranged from 'design ideation', how to present across your ideas, how to market, advertise your product, and other topics that could help and inform us.
With the focus to collaboratively create a product to be pitched and presented to real investors and clients by the end of the program in a ‘start-up style. This involved creating promotional material – posters, posts, banners, social media accounts, and a ‘kick-starter’ promo video. Eventually leading up to presentation and stall to showcase our product.
UAL: Connect was a project created during this program with various students using each of our unique course specialisations working together to create the MVP, pitch, video and promo-material.
