'The Music Factory'
Upon looking at the site and its immediate surroundings, one thing which stood out was the industrial and almost factory aesthetic which was apparent in the area. This became a starting point and driving factor for the designs concept - treating the music school as if it were a factory itself. This metaphor translated to the idea of the students being pushed through the school by the staff almost as if it were a production line. The metaphor of the school as a factory really helped to drive the design in terms of both spatial relationships and of course design aesthetic.
