The Fruitful Farmacy

The Fruitful Farmacy

This 80 page book provides context and a overview of the current evidence in the emerging field nutritional psychiatry.

I am, and continue to research and explore the connection of nutrition to mental health and how one affects the latter. Through my research I have discovered that different foods as well as food groups can change mood and improve specific areas of the mind, for example memory, cognitive function or what I will be focusing on, general mood.

Although the causes of mental health are complex, the emerging and compelling evidence that nutrition can have a positive impact on mental disorders suggests that diet is crucial to psychiatry. Evidence is steadily growing for the relation between dietary quality and mental health.

I believe that diet and nutrition are not only central determinants to physical health but also mental health. The goal of the project was to shed some light on this topic and make that area of study more popular.
