One Person's Trash is Another Person's Treasure
Dimensions: L 40" x W 40" x H 17"
This coffee table is made from all recycled wood. The base consists of weathered palette wood salvaged from outside an abandoned warehouse and the top is scrap redwood siding.
The palettes were disassembled and ripped into 3 1/2" slats. The pieces are sanded just enough to remove splinters and rough edges but leave the grey, weathered finish. The base is tapered down to a 28" base which gives the table a lighter look and allows for foot-room.
Ripped into 5 1/2" slats, the redwood table top is made to highlight the broad 40" x 40" table surface. The redwood is sanded smooth to the touch but a hint of weathering is left behind.
The inherent imperfection of the materials adds charm to the piece. Nail holes, cracks, chips, weathering, etc. are part of the history of the re-purposed wood.
