An ongoing project looking in to the seemingly mundane and assumingly disposable items which hold treasured memories from my mothers past.
Initially I began this project to document the select things I took to university to remind me of home and of my long-distance boyfriend. It developed quickly in to photographing the many obscure and seemingly mundane objects I've collected since my early years, things normally disposable such as receipts and cocktail sticks. Each and every object however conveys rich and full memories to me and I could recite each one to you in full detail.

That is another project in the making though, one that will take an extremely long time.

In the meantime I am working on the same idea but from a less knowing point of view. This time I am documenting someone else memories - my mums. The treasures in this collection are all items taken from a small box bag my mum used to take to school. It includes booklets, birthday cards, love letters and train tickets and so on. Each item is of great importance to her and signifies a point in her life. I'm interested to learn about these items however I'd like to remain in the unknowing for a little while longer. It'll be interesting to see how the stories I create in relation to each memory could be so unattached to what it really is.

What I'm interested in leaning is whether leaving the audiences mind lingering is more compelling than knowing the stories themselves. Any help in understanding this would be duly appreciated.
