This piece was created for a University competition to create a 'Seasons Greetings' card for the Vice Chancellor of the University.
I wanted to created something that was simple but seasonal, which could be identifiable across different cultures, so I chose to use snowflakes.
I chose to use only white to texture both the backdrop and the snowflakes, but subtly used coloured lights to bring tone and shadows to the snowflakes. These lights also gave a metallic, shimmering quality to the flakes in the foreground.
I created the animation in Cinema 4D and the type in Illustrator.
