Salty Bag’s concept is to manufacture bags and accessories from decommissioned sailboats’ sails which carry a small piece of history and experience of the majestic life at sea.
Salty Bag and Beetroot created the “Mantara” collection. “Mantara” in Greek stands for the “mess”; a cute, unique, summery mess we encounter every year in Greek islands. The inspiration came out from characteristic moments of Greek summer. Boats, towels, tridents, mermaids, mariners, octopus, fish become sketches on unique upcycled bags. Doodles of everyday items, familiar faces of the greek island life, all mixed together into the unique illustration of the “Mantara” line bags.

Silk screen printed limited edition posters and tote bags, sketchbooks and numerous other applications of the MANTARA illustration were designed for a special event that was organised to promote this concept and the new collection.
