SPA SALON «MYSTERIOUS FOREST».
Itis the complex of premises situated in the building of the "Votervil" aqua park in Saint.-Petersburg on Vasilevskyisland. The address is: 14 A, Korablestroitelei St.
Theaim of my project was to design unusual, stylistically solid and aesthetically-filledspace of a Spa Center providing comfort and safety.
I made the space of the Spa Centerbright and clear. The major color of interiors is white. Its atmosphere ischanged according to illumination. White surface of walls, ceiling, glossy self-levelingfloor is a kind of a three-dimensional canvas (neutral background), where themain objects are hypertrophied columns –«trees» and glossy hemispheres. Spa Centeris divided into tree major functional areas:reception, changing rooms, and the main room with hydro pools and steam rooms.
Iwanted to make the conceptual, thematic project. In this Spa Center I tried to createan atmosphere of a mysterious macro forest, which leaves are covered with dew. Hemispheressymbolize dew, or misted over glass, or the covered with perspired waterdroplets. Also, some of those hemispheres are lamps. Load-carrying columns arestylized as hypertrophied trees which,in their turn, also have the second functional loading. Given"trees", the stylized branches-shoots, in particular are original"shower tube". The pressure of water and its mode changes accordingto the set mode. I wanted to create a tranquil atmosphere, with muffled lightand theme music. Therefore, I didn't make open spaces in the ceiling. Instead of a ladder I used a lift. A persongets into a mysterious, not banal interior that helps to be released fromeveryday life and at the same time leads to additional relaxation and pleasure.In recreation area I placed bright light panels which change their images accordingto general illumination.
TheSpa Center offers its visitors a wide package of services and entertainments,including: 100 kinds of treatment for face and body, 15 kinds of massage,individual Spa programs. There is also the Russian bath, the Turkish sauna, theFinnish sauna, a hydro massage pool, a jacuzzi and a turbo solarium.
Thearchitectural volume of the Spa Center occupies 2 floors. Rooms on the 1st and2nd floors of the Spa Center are connected with a lift. Out of the hall thereare exits to steam rooms with thermal treatment.
