Vivify Publications Project
Introduction to project

Vivify Publications LTD require a full brand design that reflects the vision of the company. This consists of a new logo being created, and three branded book covers being created which should include a front and back cover, narrative synopsis, author details, bar code, company logo created, ISBN number, price and in-situ mock-ups. A colour pallet is also required within the brand designing.

Font Types and Pallets

I experimented with different font types which would best work with my new logo design and book covers. I knew i would need a font that is clear to see and a professional look. San Serif and Serif are two styles of fonts that would work within this project, this is because they are both clear, professional and smart to look at.
The font that I decided to choose for my designs was Cinzel. This is because its clear to look at, and its professional enough for a book logo. You can imagine it on the back of a book.

I chose these colours because they are colourful, and go really well together. They are warm colours and fit well with the word Vivify.
I continued to then try out different logo designs and came up with 3 final designs that i wanted to choose from. I went with the first one below.
I created a white font design too because the book covers had a black background and it didnt stand out as well as I hoped. So i made the font white and made the colours of the image bolder.
Book Covers Created

I created three book covers for three different novels of Charles Dickens. In all my cover designs I included front and back covers, author details, barcode, company logo, ISBN number and price in Sterling and Dollars.

This is my design work on all three novels.
I used the oil painting effect in Adobe Photoshop because i thought it was more effective and created a cleaner look.
I tried out different logo layouts and colours. I personally like them all but I could only choose one.
This is my final design for my design cover for Oliver Twist.
This is my final design for my design cover for Take of Two Cities.
This is my final design for my design cover for Great Expectations.
Seeing them in mock-ups are brilliant because I can see my own designs as if they were on a book, and seeing them like this can make you decide if anything needs changing. I personally think they work.
