Bruntsfield Links

Editorial
A publication consisting of three sections designed to communicate the historical context of The Bruntsfield Links, Edinburgh.
The links were famously the site of public executions, mass graves during the bubonic plague and have been appropriated repeatedly over the past 700 years to account for a massive scope of leisure and industrial applications. They presently exist as a short hole golf course. The first section of the publication is a purely pictorial, black and white tour of the links. The second, a chronological acount of their multifarious history. The third exactly repeats the first, only in colour, the concept being that the historical context provided by the second section enables a fuller and more enlightened viewing of the space. The cover stock is hand made from grass collected from the links themselves.
