Entry for the Ottawa Urban Design Awards.
Designed for a specific location in downtown Ottawa, these benches provide each individual with their own person seat, avoiding wasted space found on regular benches when strangers avoid sitting together.
Lighting was included in the bench design since the pedestrian walkway was largely deserted at night. Improving the lighting makes the area safer and more welcoming for those walking between the nearby transitway and nightlife area of downtown.
