Discomfort, Anger, Tears, Foolishness

And the blessing of God the Supreme Majesty and our Creator,
Jesus Christ the Incarnate Word who is our brother and Saviour,
and the Holy Spirit, our Advocate and Guide,
be with you and remain with you, this day and forevermore.

The Story:
I began this series after hearing a story from my friend, Ken about a girl who had recently received a tattoo on her arm with these four words: Discomfort, Anger, Tears, Foolishness. It was an interesting design but, kind of depressing. He then told me about the Four-Fold Franciscan Blessing which is absolutely incredible. Each piece of the blessing is written below each design. The final piece is written above.
The designs themselves are intended to mimic stained glass. I created the artwork in Illustrator and then added a few effects in Photoshop. The final design above merges all four blessings into one window pane.

“May God bless you with holy anger at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people, so that you may tirelessly work for justice, freedom, and peace among all people.”
