ā EightĀ independent design elements were createdĀ for thisĀ design, using Adobe Illustrator.Ā Being vector graphics, they are fully scalable and editable, and resolution-independent. The asset file that you can purchase here includes all 8 elements, png file, 3000px, 200 PPI. Feel free to email me directly with any questions.
ā Each element, along with the filler lines and shapes, was assembled one by one inside of Adobe IllustratorĀ to form the repeatable layout.

ā An embellishment layout was createdĀ aroundĀ the peacock motif, utilizing digitally designed sequin assets which were made using Adobe Illustrator.
ā Finalized first iteration,Ā zooming in the embellished peacock design with strategically incorporated sequin accents throughout.
ā The digital CAD of a short-sleeve tee, both the front and back view with pattern design presented inĀ true-scale.
ā Four visualizing mock-ups were created to demonstrate a variety of pattern placement possibilities, with a focus on the front view. The pattern design wasĀ rendered in true-scale, providing an accurate representation of how it would appear on the garment. These mock-ups serve to showcase the creative potential and versatility of the pattern in different cutting arrangements.
THE ILLUSTRATION

ā When I initially created this design in 2015, I had a vision of exploring different iterations in the future. With that in mind, I opted to use Adobe Illustrator to develop the design, ensuring complete editability and scalability. Additionally, I took precautions by saving the original version with an active type path, enabling me to easily modify the phrase at a later stage if desired.
THE REPEAT LAYOUT

ā With the aforementioned intention in mind, I made a deliberate choice to construct the pattern layout within Adobe Illustrator, despite the fact that Photoshop is often the preferred tool for complex patterns. I am very happyĀ with this choice as it enables me to easily work on different variations of the pattern throughout the yearsĀ without any hindrance. The flexibility and versatility offered by Adobe Illustrator are proving to be invaluable in exploringĀ the design.

ā Iteration IV is a multi-colored light-ground variation. It feels bohemian with a free-spirit vibe. Like the Iteration I, I added a 3 dimension effect to a flat 2-colored design. In this case, rather than using embellishment, I employed rectangular shapes with drop shadows to create a slicing effect within the composition. I really like this version because it totally changed the feel of the original design. it shows the multitude of possibilities available to refresh an existing design. This iteration comes with two color combos, designed in 2019 and 2023 respectively. ā
As a design practitioner, I love to explore fresh new ideas. However, I also believe that revisiting and continuously working on a single design over the years is an important exercise. This process contributes not only to the longevity of that particular design but also serves as a benchmark, documenting our individual, ever-evolving perspectives and preferences as designers over time.
