For the latest issue of The GM, our main cover story is about Guam's military buildup. I wanted to create a concept art for the illustration to represent the magazine's stand on this issue. 

I pitched a concept of using puzzle pieces to depict the long awaited military buildup in Guam, but this development will be in a much longer transition.

As for the style, I wanted to make it minimal yet bold. I turned to Malika Favre's incredible line of work for inspiration. I commissioned an artist for the cover illustration.
