2016 - Design a Type - Disconnected

For this brief, my typeface was based on the individuals that are apart of the Maori and a Pakeha half cased community. I was inspired by doing an Auckland community that has a strong part of New Zealand culture but is not always recognized. Many Auckland’ers can relate to being disconnected from their Maori heritage and background.

Within this typeface I wanted each character to represent an individual apart of this community. with having a strong background that is known about and then a disconnected strand of their history that they are unsure about.
