In 1952, an american composer called John Cage, devised a musical work, which can be played by any instrument, in any form and by any individual. In this piece entitled 04:33 the performers sit silently with their instruments throughout the performance (4min. 33s.) and let the environmental sounds compose the music.

The artist demonstrates the lack of silence. A year earlier, he did the experiment to get into an anechoic chamber at Harvard University, hoping to find silence. He wrote later: “… I heard two sounds, one high and one low. When I described them to the engineer in charge, he informed me that the high one was my nervous system in operation, the low one my blood in circulation”.

Until my death there will be sound, and it will continue later. We don’t need to worry about the future of music”. 6825f is a visual interpretation of the work by extending body parts, and listening to the sounds produced during 6,825 frames (04:33″).

Based on the concept of disjointed and inaudible sounds of the individual himself are those which generate the music, seemingly imperceptible, but eternal.

This project is a collaboration of 24 designers of the
Design School Elisava and the international electronic music festival Sónar, and winner of 2 Bronze LAUS in 2011! Bronze LAUS in the category “Professional Audiovisual” & Bronze LAUS in the category “Student”.
