I was asked to illustrate a new board game from the cover to the rule book and everything in between, including the game board itself. When the concept was explained to me I knew I couldn’t resist the fun. “Donner Dinner Party” takes the historic saga into a modern, strategic form of fun, and was a blast to illustrate. I was fortunate to work with Korby Sears of Forrest-Pruzan Creative, to strike the right note of comedy, balanced with an historic tongue-in-cheek visual. Creating the eleven characters, each with a unique personality, was my favorite part of the process. But getting a chance to paint dead squirrels was a close second.
